Job Description:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and build of all components of the public cloud infrastructure supporting PayPal Credit.
Full stack Infrastructure-as-Code and Software Engineer. Design and build public cloud infrastructure and core level applications supporting PayPal Credit. Develop and enhance deployment pipelines for new infrastructure while maintaining existing IaC pipelines and orchestration tools. Develop cloud orchestration strategies through the use of IaC and Ansible playbooks for automation; engineer solutions for integration with existing identity, security, and networking services; and provide troubleshooting expertise for high-impact cloud infrastructure incidents. Design and build supporting software for information security, compliance, and other activities. Manage agile workflow through JIRA and maintain support documentation in Confluence. Advocate for public cloud patterns and practices across PayPal. Provide project oversight and leadership from a Team Lead perspective.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • At least four (4) years of experience supporting AWS cloud infrastructure deployments
  • Proficiency in utilizing CI/CD projects and tools
  • Ability to write unit tested infrastructure-as-code solutions
  • Strong familiarity with GCP and Azure platforms
  • Strong understanding of web development technologies (e.g. node.js, javascript, typescript)
  • Proficiency with relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres)
  • Familiarity with industry security standards (e.g. NIST, PCI, SOC)
  • Proactive advocacy for team workflow and priorities
  • Self-directed learner able to pick up and master new technologies on the fly
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring junior team members
  • Ability to stay organized while multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting requirements, dates, and priorities

Preferred Skills:
  • Scripting (e.g. Bash or PowerShell)
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD systems (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Automation and orchestration tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)
  • Linux and Windows Server Administration
  • Advanced AWS Certification (e.g. Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer)
  • IAM (Active Directory / AWS IAM)
  • CDN (e.g. caching, SSL termination, traffic routing)
  • DNS (understand concepts and operational practices)
  • Enterprise monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Datadog, Splunk)

Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable. Experience can be gained through academic coursework, scholastic achievement, or work experience.
