The ServiceNow platform data engineering team is a small results-driven group that focuses on supporting system reliability and organization’s effort to overhaul automation. CMDB has become the central data repository for business operation. A lot of automation systems have integrated with CMDB to use it as a persistence solution. A lot of business processes are highly depending on the config data in CMDB. In order to support various ITSM use cases, and data center automation, we are looking for a strong candidate who is motivated to build solid, scalable platform capabilities, someone who likes to raise the bar with respect to code quality, testability and maintainability standards. Typical day to day involves working with your teammates on solution discussions, attend and actively participate in scrum meetings and have fun. As a senior lead software engineer, you will be given the opportunity to actively contribute to all aspects of the backend in addition to getting involved in all facets of software engineering including infrastructure, data, application, deployment, monitoring, architecture and code reviews. Your experience developing on the CMDB platform is a fundamental piece to your success on the team though you will have many opportunities with exposure to other important and interesting technology as well.

Job Requirements:
  • Understand REST API development and design
  • BS in computer science, master’s degree preferred. 5+ years’ industry experience
  • Solid experience working with or familiarity around Java and/or Python
  • Very strong foundational knowledge in Object-Oriented Design Principles, Data Structures, Algorithms, SQL/NoSQL, Operating Systems, and Software Engineering
  • Working knowledge of web technologies (such as HTTP, HTML/DOM, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX) will be beneficial
  • Understanding concepts like Web Services, SOA, REST APIs
  • Understand and expert level in CMDB data architecture, CMDB business process and CMDB workflow, ITSM use cases.
  • Strong and expert knowledge in data sync, ServiceNow data model and data replication.
  • Strong knowledge in data center infrastructure, configuration management and asset management
  • Strong knowledge about asset discovery and able to design and work on discovery failover
  • A constant desire to grow, learn, and explore new things
  • A self-starter and learner, motivated team player.
