Job Description Summary: PayPal Marketing have a new operating model, supported by agile cross-functional squads, helping to redefine the role of marketing as a growth lever and game changing function. This role will help support global program success by establishing best in class working practices and partnering to deliver world-class communications to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Agile Champion: You are your Squad’s guiding beacon for how to not just do agile, but be agile. You organize the ceremonies and keep them efficient with a focus on time to market.
  • Removing barriers to success: You effectively clear obstacles and protect the Squad from outside interruptions and distractions.
  • Coach by example: By establishing an environment where the squad can be effective by practicing agile processes and principles, you are seen as a thought leader and an Agile coach. You love to be a Scrum Master but you are loved for being an Agile coach. You build this muscle in collaboration with other scrum masters, forming a community of practice to drive continual improvements.
  • Iterate for success: You carefully consider what is working for the team and what is not, suggesting different ways of doing things to keep your working rhythms fresh and your Squad engaged.
  • Relationship management: You enable the development, maintenance and growth of key relationships to aid PayPal’s business goals, utilizing your negotiation skills and expertise in conflict resolution to ensure your Squad can be as effective as possible. You have integrated yourself to understand Product team working cadences and are bridges between the working rhythms of Marketing & Product.
  • Marketing expertise: You guide your cross functional squad to make the best decisions to meet the business goals. Ensuring you are proficient in the PayPal marketing end to end process and understand the platforms, tools and features available to create the best work possible.
  • Community of Practice: As the scrum master role is a new position for Marketing at PayPal you will work alongside our Snr Manager, MO&T Directors and fellow Scrum Masters to help build out the community and the discipline aligned with the goals of the team and business.

Requisite Experience
T-Profile:
  • Breadth: Technology and Marketing, Product Management
  • Depth: Agile Teams, Program Delivery

  • Experienced SCRUM Master or Agile Coach Core strength of balancing resource availability with sprint planning, experience doing this in Product and Marketing teams a bonus.
  • SCRUM, Kanban or Agile certifications. Marketing or Management Degree with Technology or Agile Product Management or Agile Product Management certifications. Multilingual skill set a plus
  • Global Operator with track record in working empathetically across multiple geographies
  • Customer Champion with demonstrated track record in designing marketing solutions with customer at centre
  • Multiple year Marketing execution and delivery experience with omni channel focus. Essential experience in managing multiple large workstreams in parallel.
  • Marketing domain expertise, including martech and data knowledge
  • Expert communicator with broad stakeholder group. Experience of mentoring on Agile methodology, upskilling internal teams and driving adoption
  • Is passionate about making an impact and rolling up their sleeves to make the right change happen and happen fast, in a leading global company
  • Proven team transformation experience – You have many examples of coaching and managing teams to reach peak performance
  • Comfort working with cross-functional groups and leadership
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Payments experience highly valued
  • Flexible and able to operate in a changing environment
