Job Description Summary: The M&A Finance team is part of the core cross-functional team that supports PayPal’s M&A activity led by Corporate Development. The M&A Finance team is primarily responsible for financial due diligence and analysis for acquisitions and minority investments, as well as coordination of integration activities performed by other M&A Finance workstreams including Tax, Treasury, Business Unit Finance, and Finance Systems.
Job Description:
The M&A Finance Senior Manager role within this team is responsible for driving and managing acquisition activities as it relates to all components of the Finance organization under the CFO. This role is a high visibility role that requires the ability to lead several process workstreams through explorations, gap analysis, integration planning, execution, and problem solving. The ability to work collaboratively with workstream leads and subject matter experts to arrive at risk-based approaches related to tactical execution steps is required.
An ideal candidate for this role would possess the following skills/experience:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and an executive presence
  • Analyze target company information to identify: historical and projected financial and operating trends, quality of earnings and working capital considerations, accounting policy differences, finance integration considerations, potential liabilities and risks which impact valuation
  • Ability to distill and communicate diligence findings and integration plans to others within the organization
  • PMO/Organization skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Mindset to proactively engage and evaluate (and drive resolution of) differing value drivers between various Finance and non-Finance functions
  • Proficiency with US GAAP accounting application (including Revenue Recognition, Share-Based Compensation, Business Combinations, Goodwill/Intangible Assets)
  • Analytical mindset that focuses on risk evaluation and mitigation
  • Ability to lead and drive execution of plans and to influence where you do not have direct authority through strong interpersonal skills
  • Comfort with navigating complex decision points in order to ensure stakeholder buy-in
  • 10+ years of M&A accounting/finance experience
  • Big 4 experience a plus
  • CPA preferred

  • Comfortable working with diverse teams in multiple locations.
