Job Description Summary: PayPal is seeking a driven Treasury professional with change management experience to join our global Treasury M&A Integration team. This role can be based in San Jose, New York or Austin and will manage M&A operations to integrate bank account infrastructure, treasury systems and treasury operations for acquisitions. The Treasury M&A Integration team is part of the core cross-functional team that supports PayPal’s M&A activity led by the Corporate Development team. The Treasury M&A Integration team supports both the Treasurer and Head of Corporate Finance & Investor Relations during the due diligence process for acquisitions and strategic investments. The Treasury M&A Integration team sets the strategy for Treasury integration and is responsible for coordination of integration activities alongside other M&A partners and workstreams including Tax, Finance, Legal, and Compliance.
In this role, you will lead Treasury M&A Operations, partnering with Treasury Integration leads, to provide execution support for the integration of the target company’s Treasury operations into the group.
The Treasury M&A Operations team supports end to end integration of treasury operations from changing of bank account signatories, account set up in Treasury & FX management systems, cash operations controls to facilitating capital or intercompany funding, FX hedging and regulatory compliance management, where applicable. The team will work closely with the relevant Legal, Finance, Tax, Cash & FX Operations & Treasury Tech teams as needed to deliver on outcomes within targeted timelines. The team may also be required to assist and bridge the transition of a target’s treasury activities into business as usual processes and/or teams at the appropriate interval or state of integration.
You will be primarily responsible for managing resource allocation and deliverables of the Treasury M&A Operations team, reporting out to escalate and track issues in a timely manner. The successful individual is expected to weigh potential value and risks in accelerating or delaying integration areas and be an active contributor to continuous improvement in our processes and support enhancements to the M&A playbook.
The ability to work collaboratively with workstream leads and subject matter experts to drive through and complete execution steps is required. In this role, you may be required to manage key internal and external relationships, provide quantitative or qualitative analysis and track and report metrics on progress of integration.
- Supervisory experience to manage small staff and ensure accurate and timely reporting and resolutions of daily issues
Ability to tackle problems and deal with a variety of situations practically, having impeccable attention to detail, and strong prioritization skills
Excellent communication skills, and comfortable working with executive leadership and cross-functional teams throughout the company and across locations
Change management experience a big plus
High ethical standards, integrity and strength of character in their personal and professional dealings and a willingness to act on and be accountable for their decisions
Team-oriented, cooperative and collaborative
10 years+ of experience in the treasury function, preferably within regulated financial industries
CTP/ACT qualified - preferred
