Job Description Summary: PayPal’s Global Seller Risk First Line of Defense team is looking for a highly inquisitive and solution-oriented professional to help lead our Issues Management program. The Manager will be responsible for facilitating resolution for issues as well as devising and implementing remediation plans. Areas of focus will include but are not limited to performing impact analysis, providing recommendations, assuring regulatory adherence while supporting business units in issue remediation/resolution, and communicating the issues to a wide array of stakeholders.
Job Description:
The core activities of this role will be to lead of team of internal controls analysts and support internal control projects focused on improvement of processes, and reduction in process risk. This Manager will be responsible for projects and remediations efforts related to Issue Management, Incident Management, Third Party Management, Testing & Monitoring, Control Management, and the Annual Risk and Compliance Program (ARCP). This opportunity is for an individual that has a core level of understanding of risk, compliance and controls, and who can demonstrate a passion for wanting to progress a career in this area.
Core responsibilities:
  • Lead initiatives to evaluate issues across multiple lines of business and product areas, work with the appropriate functional team to document recommendations and follow up with business units on resolution/implementation.
  • Create/Manage action plans: gather updates, assign tasks and identify risks and issues during the impaired period. Collaborate with Policy and Operations, Product Development, Technology, Data Services, Legal, Compliance and Second Line of Defense stakeholders as appropriate to remediate impacted customers during impaired period.
  • Provide periodic updates on project status and escalate issues to senior management and assist in issue resolution.
  • Ensure meetings and critical decision points are clearly documented and communicated.
  • Establish strong partnerships with line of business representatives and second line of defense team members to enable the team to meet business objectives.
  • Assist in business case/cost benefit analysis to help in the identification, development and prioritization of data, reporting, and projects as outputs of issues management.
  • Work collaboratively with business management and other teams to understand business requirements, align stakeholder expectations with internal & external review committee, update stakeholders on resolution progress, and prepare for issue resolution and associated business change.

Job Requirements
  • Strong analytical skill - must be able to analyze complex data, draw meaningful/accurate conclusions, and make holistic business recommendations
  • Strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to devise and execute on remediation plan, leveraging risk product experience and project/process management experience
  • Ability to approach problems in a quantitative and qualitative manner, and partner with the business to understand their needs, and drive solutions specifically around Issues
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements for merchants, products and customer experience preferred
  • Familiarity with PayPal products and the merchant processing industry, particularly risk and operational processes
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project/process management, compliance/audit and risk industry experience, and at least 1-2 years previous experience in merchant/seller risk is required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Excellent organizational, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent skills in simplifying and presenting complex information via flow charts, diagrams and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Rapidly and effectively adapt to highly dynamic, fast-paced and deadline-driven work environment.
  • Expected to be self-directed and results-focused.
  • Flexible, able to deal with ambiguity and change.
  • Possess strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
