Job Description Summary: We are currently seeking an Integration Engineer to join our Shopping Professional Services team in the US, focusing on the PayPal Shopping suite of products. The Integration Engineer is a key member of the integration team who provides guidance, consultation, and best practices during the integration phases of any project, and Subject Matter Expert technical support to merchants and consumers after implementation. Working alongside our Solution Engineers and Technical Account Managers, the Integration Engineer provides technical consultancy to enable Shopping products within PayPal’s diverse product set within unique merchant environments. We are seeking a dynamic individual with fast innovative thinking skills, exceptional technical skills, and a solid business acumen. As the Integration Engineer, we will look for you to use your technology and business intelligence to enable the Shopping Platform within the PayPal Checkout and merchant site environments, bringing compelling, high-performing, and value-added solutions to our consumers and merchants. The role requires internal cross team participation with key internal stakeholder teams such as Sales, Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Identity, Merchant Support, Consumer Support, etc. to address specific integration requirements and support requests. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-learner, articulate in communicating technical concepts in a concise, business-oriented manner, pragmatic, and passionate about supporting experiences for our consumers and merchants. This job requires <10% travel.
Job Description:
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Interacts directly with our clients, merchants, partners and developers to recognize and articulate business requirements and how best to implement our PayPal solutions, while adhering to PayPal guidelines and company policies
  • Act as main technical point of contact for all implementation-related activities throughout the integration effort. Facilitate setting up test accounts, provide technical development and coding support, and guide the client through testing and pre-launch activities
  • Be the “Voice of the Customer” and relay constructive feedback to Product Managers, Engineering, Technology and other internal groups on ease of use and new functionality. Funnel all feature enhancements or solution gaps to internal teams for impact analysis and prioritization
  • Work in partnership with Solution Engineers to integrate proposed PayPal solutions into the merchant platforms
  • Work closely with internal teams including compliance, privacy, risk, information security, support and operations to ensure all aspects of a partner or merchant launch are managed
  • Identify, define, and document integration specifics and drive toward best practices
  • Build and maintain internal and external documentation supporting the integration and support of Shopping solutions
  • Train internal support resources to ensure issues are promptly resolved

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance and computer science.
  • 3+ years of experience/exposure in web and mobile technologies including Web Services, APIs, REST, HTML/HTTP, iOS, Android and leading web and mobile application frameworks
  • Exposure to multiple major programming languages (C++, Objective-C, C#, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, .NET, PHP, Python)
  • Exceptional communication skills, in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to successfully interact and dynamically adapt to communication styles with all levels of client organizations including C-level executives, middle management, finance and operations, technical/IT staff, and line personnel
  • Ability to translate requirements into detailed design and solution documents
  • Ability to build external facing documentation and interact with internal teams to expose documentation to merchants and consumers
  • Ability to quickly assess and troubleshoot most integration issues
  • Effective time management skills to work with multiple external customers concurrently
  • Self-learner for most of the topics that coincide with integrating products, with proficiently designed solutions and delivering integrations with both off the shelf and customized products
  • Effective skills presenting technical concepts clearly to business contacts and business strategies to technical contacts
  • Exceptional database query skills
  • Less than 10% domestic travel. International travel is not expected

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience with Payments (Credit Card, Banking, Online, Offline). Comprehensive knowledge is highly valued in commerce systems, payments gateways and payment processors.
  • 2+ years of experience with Offers platform or similar solutions which span both merchant and end-consumer experiences
  • Broad knowledge of technical concepts and payment processing as it relates to company products and integration.
