Our mission in Infrastructure and Vendor Operations is to create a best in class operations team to deliver the infrastructure that runs our customer success platform. This role includes managing our cloud-based products, in-house vendor solutions, and compute infrastructure for these solutions. This role specifically will lead our cloud strategy and establish operational metrics to drive our organization. This leader should be comfortable as a thought leader and able to lead significant change. This individual will be working closely with development teams on projects, data center teams to manage infrastructure projects, and our information security teams. The Director of Infrastructure Operations will set the standard for customer focus, quality, and play a key role in the culture of our Bengaluru, India location.
Job Description:
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for compute infrastructure that drives our Customer Success Platform.
  • Directs the teams in implementing the strategic PayPal vision and specifically our cloud efforts.
  • Working closely with product, architecture, and project management partners to define the strategy and roadmap.
  • Defining engagement processes and environment health metrics.
  • Lead in technology research & support activities.
  • Create a culture of quality, diversity, and inclusion and a positive work environment at our Bengaluru location.
  • Define and report on operational metrics such as availability, SLA adherence, disaster tolerance readiness, security, etc.

Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience in software development and experience with front end technologies as well as platform builds.
  • Demonstrated experience in payments and financial services and customer focused delivery methods.
  • A core ability and judgment to arbitrate on development decisions to balance risk, cost, time, and quality
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities to deliver projects on schedule
  • Experience with managing mixed technical organization including local, remote, and vendor resources
  • A proven ability to facilitate consensus across cross-functional teams
  • Experience working and collaborating cross-functionality and cross-organizationally on strategic objectives and leading through influence
  • Experience with all aspects of personnel management including development, performance reviews, training, mentoring and disciplinary action
  • Experience with public cloud migrations and common vendors in the CS space such as Nice, Genesys, Sales Force, IBM, Contentful, Adobe, Nuance, Avaya.
  • Proven experience delivering complex software projects and solutions effectively through operational engagement processes.
  • Roughly 25% of travel is required
