Job Description Summary: PayPal is seeking an experienced Analyst to join our Consumer Performance Marketing Analytics organization. This team supports the Global Consumer Performance Marketing team by delivering insights, developing hypotheses, designing experiments and driving the implementation of statistical methodologies and models to help optimize the impact of lifecycle marketing on consumers.
Job Description:
Core responsibilities:
  • Perform deep-dive analysis using analytical and statistical tools (primarily SQL and Python/R/SAS or similar) on very large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets
  • Generate actionable insights and recommendations and communicate them to senior stakeholders
  • Support cross-functional marketing squad teams by analyzing what is necessary in order to drive bigger impact through marketing across various stages of the lifecycle
  • Communicate insights to the stakeholders
  • Ensure rigorous quality control over data, analyses and metrics, and organizational clarity and alignment for key business and marketing metrics
  • Reporting
  • Secure preparation of input for weekly reportings

  • Partner with other Analytics teams to ensure best practice sharing and collection of insights

Essential Requirements:
  • Degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics or operations research preferred

  • Between 4 to 6 years experience gained as marketing analyst, business analyst, data scientist or in a similar analytical position
  • Experience in marketing or lifecycle analytics a plus
  • Experience in working in global, virtual teams a plus
  • Experience in building applied models for marketing

Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong programming skills (SQL,R, Python, SAS or similar, Excel, BI software (ideally Tableau))
  • Sound knowledge in statistics and mathematics
  • Ability to structure problems and synthesize large quantities of data into clear conclusions / recommendation
  • Commercially savvy – able to translate analytical studies into actionable business insight and business problems into implementable models

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with multiple stakeholders including senior management
