This position involves design, development, troubleshooting and debugging features for the Oracle database - one of the most widely used databases in the world. This position is for the Database Server Manageability team whose vision is to develop a self-diagnosing and self-tuning database. This includes the ability to detect normal and anomalous system states and to automatically fix problems to ensure consistent database performance .
We build efficient monitoring and measuring infrastructures, as well as analytics, diagnostics and self-tuning technologies to provide complete solutions to our customers.
The ideal candidate would possess solid systems and database experience combined with data analysis skills including statistical and data mining methods. Our position creates a unique opportunity for an engineer to participate in the evolution of modern data centers with a vibrant team that strives to make management and operation of databases in the cloud as easy and effective as possible. Experience in C/C++/Java and SQL is preferred.
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
