We are seeking a talented and motivated Copywriter to join our Client Design team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for expressing our clients’ brands within Opower’s digital and print communications. You’ll customize our products for utilities, across the country and around the world, and reach millions of people across the globe.

Write clear, compelling copy for digital and print communications
Create content that aligns with the client’s message, voice, and brand guidelines
Customize white-label products for client launches
Develop new content for templated and non-templated materials
Provide content consultation to Oracle Utilities/Opower clients
Consult with clients on best practices and make content recommendations
Conduct creative reviews with clients for feedback and approval
Work closely with Oracle Utilities/Opower’s client-facing teams and help them maintain strong client relationships
Own the expression of our clients’ messaging and voice across Oracle Utilities/Opower products
Create and maintain a production-ready library of Client Design materials
Identify marketing best practices across channels (online ads, emails, surveys, postcards, etc.) and ensure that client communications adhere to them

Collaborate with the UX team to create new versions of Oracle Utilities/Opower’s products
Support our research team and identify potential client needs, provide copy for testing, and share results with clients
You have a bachelor's degree (or higher) and 3+ years of work experience
Must love words.
You’re a first-class copywriter and editor with strong opinions about hyphens and oxford commas (we don’t have to agree, promise!). You can translate corporate-speak into meaningful, motivating communication—while maintaining that company’s voice and tone. You’re also keen on sharing your knowledge with other writers, constantly moving your craft forward.
Must love design.
You’re interested in making things and a have strong desire to execute. You have experience working with designers to create persuasive communications.
Must love collaboration.
You’re a great communicator and thoughtful teammate who’s comfortable with a fast-paced workflow. You love getting things done and thrive when working on lots of different projects.
Must love rules.
Defining them, enforcing them, and occasionally breaking them.) You’ll be creating materials that reach millions of customers. Understanding and adhering to guidelines and product requirements is a critical part of your success in this role. That said, change is constant at Oracle Utilities/Opower, and we’re learning new things every day. When appropriate, you get to write new rules.

Responsible for creating, evaluating and modifying prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.
As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
