NVIDIA is looking for a hardworking Systems Software Engineering Manager to lead the team working on open-source Linux container runtimes and Kubernetes technologies. NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern Artificial Intelligence — the next era of computing — with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. Today, we are increasingly known as “the AI computing company”. We are looking to grow our teams with the smartest people in the world. If you're creative and autonomous, we want to hear from you!
What you will be doing:
What we need to see:
You'll be part of a small and dynamic team that explores innovative ways to make GPU-accelerated applications easier to develop, deploy, and monitor. One example is the open-source NVIDIA-docker plugin, that it is now extensively being used to deploy containers that need to access the high performance of NVIDIA GPUs.
Improve existing container runtimes and advance the state of virtualization for high-performance applications.
Enable GPUs as first-class resources in container orchestrators such as Kubernetes.
Work on infrastructure software for deploying edge AI inferencing applications.
You will have the opportunity to research new use cases for GPUs with emerging container technologies.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of relevant work experience and 4+ years of management experience.
You possess good programming skills in Go, C or C++.
Strong knowledge and experience working with System internals of any Unix/Unix-like kernel such as Linux.
Strong background in Cloud Computing and Distributed Software design and development.
Good understanding of container technology internals such as Docker, Rkt, FreeBSD Jails, Solaris Zones.
Strong experience in leading and managing Systems Software engineering teams/projects
Strong experience with the Go programming language.
Real world experience with distributed systems, especially containers and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of GPU programming such as OpenCL or CUDA is a plus.
NVIDIA is leading the way in groundbreaking developments in Artificial Intelligence, High-Performance Computing and Visualization. The GPU, our invention, serves as the visual cortex of modern computers and is at the heart of our products and services. Our work opens up new universes to explore, enables amazing creativity and discovery, and powers what were once science fiction inventions from artificial intelligence to autonomous cars. NVIDIA is looking for great people like you to help us accelerate the next wave of artificial intelligence.
NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers. We have some of the most forward-thinking and hardworking people on the planet working for us. If you're a creative, curious, and driven technical leader, we want to hear from you!At NVIDIA we pride ourselves on data-driven decision-making, and the data team is at the heart of this initiative. We are looking for an excellent AI Platform Engineer to help us craft and implement our ML/AI platform.
