Senior Software Integration Engineer, Autonomous Machines - Planning

We are looking for planning and control software engineer to move forward our robotics stack!
What you will be doing:

  • Designing planner software architecture for a feature or component

  • Develop and deploy high performance planning algorithms

  • Defining and verifying product requirements through detailed analysis, testing in simulation and on the road, and benchmarking competitive products

  • Solve problems of how to combine data-driven and classical solutions

  • Design a system that works in multiple different settings (perception sensor modalities, map availability, environmental conditions)

  • Collaborate with a diverse group of engineers of other domains including perception, and mapping.

What we need to see:

  • 5+ years of proven experience

  • BS/MS in CS or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Excellent knowledge of C/C++, along with familiarity using scripting languages such as Bash and Python

  • Ability to think analytically and solve technical problems in a compute constrained system

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, as well as give technical mentorship to junior engineers

  • Excellent communication and architecture skills

  • Proficient in code review and production code

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Proven experience in delivering high quality code

  • Expertise in fundamental physics - kinematic and dynamic models of rigid bodies

  • Expert-level understanding of control systems (optimal, adaptive, fuzzy, model predictive, robust, etc.) and planning algorithms (A*, D*, RRTs, probabilistic roadmaps, etc.)

  • Proven experience building safety-critical software architectures

  • Knowledge of CUDA is a plus

  • Previous experience leading a team
