Manager, Capital Asset Management and Accounting

We are now looking for a Manager of Capital Asset Management and Accounting:
This role is based out of NVIDIA’s Corporate Office in Santa Clara, CA as part of the Finance team and reports directly to the Corporate Controller. You will be primarily responsible for global process management for capital asset accounting. This leadership position requires an organized, highly motivated professional with strong drive and skillset to lead Company’s operational improvement initiatives. The individual will perform a variety of tasks ranging from routine to complex analysis and play a critical part in asset accounting operations, including month-end close process resulting in complete and accurate financial statements. This position is the best suited for a career minded accounting professional who is detail oriented and enjoys working in a meaningful, fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing:

  • You will assume ownership of asset accounting function and ensure accurate accounting of company's capital assets through asset life cycle management (record, depreciate, report, track, report, and dispose) including appropriate classification, useful life, and method of depreciation

  • Drive global process automation and continuous improvement initiatives for fixed assets area geared towards operational improvements and uniformity across all accounting entities

  • Develop expertise and thoroughly understand the features, functionality, and capability of the fixed asset ERP software system

  • Review asset account reconciliations and analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy and resolve account discrepancies on a timely basis

  • Monitor and report on the activity in the CIP (construction in progress) account, including new construction and expansion projects, and ensures the timely capitalization of such activity

  • Maintain a full understanding of the purchase requisition approval process and provide training and assistance to ensure uniform practices across functions

  • Lead and coordinate periodic physical inventory and ensure the system records are updated accordingly

  • Provide accounting guidance and support cross-functional partners, both local and global

  • Assist with developing and documenting asset accounting processes including asset disposition procedure and develop and monitor system of controls and procedures

  • Participate in the Company’s quarterly, interim, and year-end audits and prepare supporting and assist the auditors in their inquiries

  • Ensure compliance with Company's SOX and internal control processes and communicate and train individuals

  • Recommend and implement changes to standard policy and procedures when required by specific situations and circumstances

  • Assist with the preparation of statement of cash flows as it relates to fixed assets

What We Need To See:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Finance/Accounting (or equivalent experience) with knowledge of US GAAP with 7+ years experience

  • Experience in Fixed Assets accounting with 3+ years of leadership experience

  • Working experience with and knowledge of accounting software systems (preferably SAP) as well as asset management database tools

  • Demonstrated experience automating processes and activities, including data center asset management

  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Outlook) required

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
