The Editorial & Publishing team at Netflix is on the pulse of conversation among our consumers — not just listening, but participating in and starting thoughtful, hilarious, exciting discussions with fans. Though part of the larger marketing organization, the Editorial & Publishing team’s work is unique in that we express a firm perspective on content and culture in the way a traditional media outlet would. With 15 audiences and growing, our robust offering of distribution spans across owned and managed platforms around the world. In order to drive our mission of connecting directly with fans, the operational components of our organization is the foundation of the Editorial & Publishing team’s success.
The Editorial & Publishing Operations team creates systems-level operational and infrastructure strategy to build and support the Editorial & Publishing group at Netflix, enabling the teams to focus on great storytelling seamlessly and at scale around the world and across platforms.
We are looking for an expert in syndication who deeply understands the media landscape and how to enable great storytelling to effectively speak to consumers at scale. In this role, you will act as a program manager in the development and execution of operational solutions & workflows across all consumer touchpoints managed by the Editorial & Publishing team: audio, print, digital, social. This role is for you if you are motivated by finding creative solutions to complex problems, are a self-starter, and have a proven track record in shepherding cross-functional work flows and frameworks with effectiveness. Key responsibilities:
  • Work with cross-functional teams on developing the strategy for an effective global syndication approach including the use of tooling, communication best practices and aligned ways of working
  • Successfully collaborate with teams in E&P, Marketing, Publicity, and Product, lead the implementation of editorial planning at large that creates aligned editorial needs within E&P as well as effectively leverage partners outside the group to bring it to life
  • Define future need-states within the E&P group to optimize workflow and drive scale in storytelling
  • Manage projects and establish workflows and frameworks with key partners and stakeholders, balancing multiple priorities and needs across platforms and global markets
  • Communicate priorities and how they fit in the big picture to minimize inefficiency and churn for the Editorial & Publishing organization
  • Partner with Marketing Strategy to define analytical measurement and sizing to create data-backed approaches to drive efficiency in asset discoverability and reuse across platforms and channels
A successful candidate is/has:
  • Knowledge, experience and passion for social/digital platforms, how they operate and their unique differences. In-depth knowledge of posting needs across platforms and associated deliverables
  • An incredible eye for detail, a natural-born communicator, connecting the dots when others cannot and simplifying complex issues and questions. Comfortable working with multiple teams and stakeholders across the company.
  • Unafraid to get their hands dirty, and demonstrates a bias to action
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity and demonstrate strong judgment in the face of ambiguity
