Bing online metrics team is looking for a passionate online metrics and experimentation product lead.
This team is where all roads pass through in terms of understanding if the experiences we build are really working for the real users, giving insights, celebrate as well keeping us honest. The role requires a deep understanding and passion for A/B metrics themselves and the data science behind them. This team works on the building advanced metrics that are sensitive, actionable and simple to empower and drive the whole organization towards real north star business metrics – user growth. The work helps our org’s 1000+ team members understand impact of their work on our half billion users and growing.
This role is a great opportunity to make an impact across the search org, influence leadership and partners, develop signals for ranking content and ultimately help our users be more productive and delighted with search results.
The role will eventually be a people manager and lead a team in this space.

- Understand how users really use search.
- Develop new metrics and advance existing ones to be more accurate and sensitive.
- Work with Data Scientists, Developers, partners, PMs to build and ensure they accurately capture the success (or failure) of their experiences.
- Partner with broader data science groups to absorb past learnings and share new ones.
- Think of scaling and agility in application of those metrics.
- Monitor and suggest improvement to experimentation and triage process.
- Handle partner issues and concerns with a growth mindset, nudging them the right way at times but also have humility to take feedback on metrics or process
Bachelor’s or better in computer science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
6+ years PM or data scientist experience
3+ years’ experience building or evolving metrics.
3+ year experience designing, running / analyzing A/B experiments
2+ year experience with working on large scale data
2+ years’ experience in machine learning projects
Experience presenting and pitching to leadership and influencing their decisions.
1+ years experience building/shipping or evaluation products – experience in understanding real user needs, building solutions for it and story telling the same.
Hands on data mining with SQL, Python or equivalent
Leading a team of DS/program managers
