We are the Azure Customer Experience (CXP) organization - a fast growing Engineering team of customer-obsessed & passionate individuals that drive positive customer outcomes and experiences. FastTrack (FT) Engineering for Azure is our newest initiative; a customer success service to help customers confidently onboard customer workloads to Azure and putting them on the right track to build it right, architect it right, the first time.
FastTrack takes a solution-centric approach and provides customers with Engineering resources, standard methodologies, tools and additional resources that help drive Azure usage. We are looking for thoughtful, analytical and high energy Azure FastTrack Engineers with a passion for Azure Data Services and deep experience in working with customers. These Engineers will be focused on working with large enterprise size solutions to successfully deliver complex migration/modernization projects and drive future product enhancements based on customer feedback and learnings.
We are looking for thoughtful, analytical, and high energy Azure FastTrack Data Engineers. Responsibilities
Areas of responsibility include:
  • You will lead customers in the landing of their Data workloads through technical scoping and architectural design sessions that provide the most optimized E2E approach to meeting their operational requirements on Azure. Successful execution may include building demo solutions, proof of concepts and guiding them through the migration and pipeline creation steps to production.
  • Directly engaging with customers to validate their new solution requirements and ensure they are optimized, resilient and scalable.
  • Supporting our Product teams through sharing customer specific feedback for their continuous improvement models.
  • Helping customers migrate and/or build/modernize workloads throughout their Azure journey toward production and expand their cloud footprint.
  • Staying current on latest Azure/Cloud innovations to conduct experiments, drive product improvement, and act as subject matter trainer for other engineers.
  • Interact daily with other FastTrack Engineers to provide technical action plans or take ownership of situations that require escalation.
  • Share knowledge with others through solution documents and engage in technical communities.

Successful Candidate will have Technical Competencies in several of the following areas:
  • Data Architecture on Azure PaaS services in the Data Solution space.
  • Azure Data Migration tooling experience - Experience with DMS/DMA, Databricks, SQLDB and MI
  • Relevant Database experience: MySQL, PostgreSQL, CosmosDB, SQLDB, and SQL MI
  • Analytics & AI – ADF/Purview, Synapse Data warehouse, Azure ML, and Cog Services
  • Bigdata – HDInsight/Hadoop, ADLSGen2
  • BAP – PowerBI, PowerApps, Microsoft Flow


Expected Competencies:
  • Familiarity with cloud deployment and development tools (ie. PowerShell, Visual Studio, Python, ADO)
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts, connectivity (geo-redundancy, CDN, VPN) and tools
  • Strong communication skills to effectively drive recommendations and land priorities across customers, partners, senior executives and across organizational boundaries.
  • Dealing with ambiguity: must have the ability to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple demands and shifting priorities.
Collaboration – collaborate on complex multi-faceted programs
Requirements:
  • 7+ of experience working with enterprise customers on Azure specific solutions.
  • Data Services Deployment and Data Migration scenarios experience is a priority, as well as some experience working in cloud isolation desired.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with corporate customers, possess an understanding of the onboarding process and demonstrate a vision for the future of Microsoft support.
  • Candidate should also have excellent customer service skills, good oral and written communication skills, proven ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations involving the most critical and politically charged customer situations; to lead projects and to motivate others.
  • Consulting and/or Delivery experience a plus
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Abillity to successfully deliver Azure data solutions within a large enterprise program.
  • Understanding of how to define and align the correct architecture to the customers long term vision and success criteria.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with corporate customers, possess an understanding of the onboarding process and demonstrate a vision for the future of Microsoft support.
  • Excellent customer service skills, good oral and written communication skills, proven ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations involving the most critical and politically charged customer situations; to lead projects and to motivate others.
  • Abillity to work on a diverse team of individuals and drive success around a common goal, through great partnership skills and your abillity to both build on as well as contribute to the work of others.
  • 2-3 years of Consulting and/or Delivery experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
Location Details:
  • This is a remote role responsible and will work out of a home office with limited travel during Covid. Otherwise, travel may be expected to local customer site.
  • Expected travel may be up to 25% for onsite customer meetings.
