We are a remote first team with members around the globe.
We are looking for a smart, self-motivated, evidence-based senior SEO strategist to manage organic search for docs.microsoft.com. The SEO strategist will develop and execute strategies to drive traffic and engagement for the docs.microsoft.com site. You have at least 6 years of hands-on SEO experience (technical and content), including solving tough enterprise-level SEO problems with global footprints, developing sound strategies to support early funnel traffic, and educating and influencing a broad set of stakeholders in an enterprise environment. Docs iscore toenabling every Microsoft product and service success and this role isat the center of ensuring our customers get to critical product and service resources. Responsibilities
Who you’ll work with:
This role is a part of the product team that builds the platform for docs.microsoft.com and other learning-related web properties. You will be on a diverse team of designers, developers, information architects, researchers, and product managers. You’ll also work closely with an Analytics team to design dashboards to measure business outcomes.
Important things that you’ll help drive:
  • Set the vision for SEO strategy and be an integral part of the execution, in collaboration with the product team, content development, marketing, and product organizations across Microsoft.
  • Create, evolve, and sustain a holistic, scalable, impactful SEO program that maximizes SEO benefit against business objectives and priorities
  • Prioritize and build technical and content SEO roadmaps including infrastructure investments
  • Collaborate with content teams to support and educate writers understanding SEO to improve optimization and search traffic including coordinated training and drive awareness of key SEO strategies
  • Collaboration with business groups to solve technical problems, provide optimization recommendations, and forecast impact to initiate traffic across our web properties
  • Communicating the business impact of various SEO projects (business reviews, wider company communication etc.)

What you’ll do:
  • Focus on SEO strategies and tactics, ensuring that our platform and the authors on our platform are adhering to SEO best practices
  • Perform forensic technical SEO audits and inspections of websites to identify on-page, off-page, Crawl efficiency / Indexation, Web Performance (Core Web Vitals), International SEO, and other technical issues
  • Evaluate complex data sets to identify opportunities, forecast results, and implement strategies to address gaps in organic search performance, keyword planning and on-page optimization of high value pages
  • Identify growth opportunities in site infrastructure, keyword selection, and on-page optimization
  • Monitor performance metrics to understand organic search performance and measure the impact of technical and content changes
  • Synthesize large amounts of data from a variety of sources and prepare executive-ready reports and insights of SEO campaign performance
  • Stay current on global SEO and search landscape and emerging trends and identify tools and reports to automate processes or deliver more sophisticated understanding

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ years’ professional experience in global SEO environment.

Preferred qualifications
  • Deep familiarity with Adobe Analytics/Omniture and other analytics and reporting tools, including Power BI.
  • A demonstrated track record of increasing rankings and traffic while managing and executing SEO strategies and tactics.
  • Highly proficient in Excel with the ability to understand data and draw conclusions to create business cases, market insights, and requirements for SEO.
  • Experience using SEO tools including but not limited to SEMRush, BrightEdge, Google Search Console, Bing WMT, Deepcrawl, Screaming Frog, and others.
  • Understanding of site management, web development principles including an extensive knowledge of HTML and JavaScript.
  • Ability to draw conclusions from data to create business cases, market insights, and requirements for SEO.
  • Experience working remote (if not located in Seattle).
