Azure Sovereign Cloud Expansion team within Azure Global is looking for a Senior Program manager to deliver hands-on key elements of Azure Cloud buildout. This pivotal role is part of a dynamic and high-impact team to drive business goals of Azure’s Global Expansion and Customer Promises on Sovereign cloud offerings.

Do you have experience in the cloud working to deliver the hardware upon which the cloud is built or to deliver the services the customers consume? If so, please read on… We’re looking for a strong technical Government Cloud Expansion PM, who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and hit the keyboard, if the situation warrants it to unblock teams and ensure we cross the finish line. Responsibilities
  • Develop new sovereign Azure regions and manage the complexities of isolated cloud implementation
  • Work with the Data Center, Capacity and Engineering teams to deliver the right hardware to unblock Azure Service Buildout
  • Work with Engineering Teams across Azure… Compute, Data, Identity, Networking, Security, Storage and more to identify platform, engineering gaps, engage cloud development automation teams & deliver the services required by the customer
  • The successful candidate will have a bias for action, curiosity that asks “why,” a proven ability to deliver results and impact through collaboration and an ability to fail fast.
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud services and data center technology
  • 5+ years of technical Program Management or equivalent experience
  • Ability to successfully influence without authority and manage efforts through relationships.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems to determine best course of action

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Candidates must have an active US Government TS/SCI security clearance and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph), or have an active TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance.
  • Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to analyze complex systems and drive solutions in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Ability to bootstrap on a given process or technology in a minimal amount of time
  • Great problem solving, strategic thinking and technical skills
  • Self-driven, ability to work with minimal direction, and thrives in a team environment
  • Experience with a metrics-driven mindset and the ability to experiment, learn, and improve.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
  • Good experience of engineering practices and engaging engineering teams so that you can express and drive new feature requirements in Azure.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and experienced in project management
  • Prior experience with cloud architecture, design, buildout, or operations
  • Proven experience with data center operations, networking, or software engineering
  • Familiarity or prior experience with software development or DevOps is beneficial
  • A BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
