Microsoft Power Platform is a strategic new growth area for Microsoft, but more importantly, it is a disruptor technology that is giving “Citizen access” to a broader set of enterprise users, to create next generation business productivity software via a radically simplified “Low Code / No Code” experience and without requiring extensive and costly training. It is transforming careers of ‘citizen developers’, making pro-developers far more productive and helping IT finally innovate at the pace that their businesses expect. To boost Power Platform to scale to millions of 'citizen developers', we are investing in scaling the licensing framework within Power Platform.
The licensing team is responsible for generating revenue for the entire suite of products - Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Virtual Agents and Common Data Service. The team owns backend components that enable onboarding and entitling various license offers to end users, including innovative licensing concepts such as per Power App and per Flow licenses that generate millions of dollars in additional revenue for Microsoft.
We primarily design and build large-scale distributed platform services in the cloud, solving challenging big data problems to report, enforce and manage licensing quotas in real time. We operate as a full stack team, building cutting edge UX on top of its backend services. We have embraced a startup culture with a newer codebase and lots of green field opportunities. The vision for our team is to be the single unified licensing stack for the entire suite of products within Microsoft Dynamics. There is huge opportunity to make a bottom-line impact to the business – the team is directly involved in generating revenue through licensing of our products – the impact of this extends to the bottom-line revenue numbers reported by Microsoft. You will also have an opportunity to collaborate with multiple teams across the division and the company – every new launch has a licensing aspect. The north start for the charter is to enable full E2E licensing reporting, enforcement, and quotas. The team will champion additional streams such as licensing of ISVs assets and billing through Azure. This is a full stack team, building cutting edge UX and backend services that enable these scenarios.

Collaborate continuously with Program Managers, Software Engineering, and our business users to define KPIs and measure reliability, availability and performance of our services including internal services and external integrations.
Develop high quality monitoring and service health reporting solutions that address our live site needs and reflect the actual user or customer experience.
8+ years of Software Engineering Experience
5+ years of management experience leading a high-performance engineering team that delivers results
Experience building on Azure or other cloud providers
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work through ambiguous situations
Experience with agile development practices
Bachelor’s required in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or another related field
