The Engineering Manager role involves building and managing a team of high-caliber software engineers ensuring product and development excellence, career development, establishing a strong team culture of trust, collaboration, and inclusion, and working closely with our partner organizations.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Hands on experience on client/server technologies.
Drive team in day-to-day activities like scrum, bug triages, devops, design/code reviews
- Drive team in delivering on features with high quality and with adherence to schedule.
- Collaborate with peers in other functions daily to help deliver features on schedule with quality.
- Take important design, development and deployment decisions when needed.
- Coach team on a regular basis.
Participate in hiring activities when needed.
- Help team in designing, developing, testing & support providing technical leadership & significant contribution to features, experiences & solutions for end-to-end business scenarios over the full stack using cutting-edge modern development technologies. Lead by example where appropriate.
- Collaborate across diverse engineering teams to solve challenging problems for large-scale business SaaS applications.
- Accountability for the quality, usability & performance of features
Debug and handle customer reported issues.
7+ years of professional software development experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Design, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience
People management experience is strongly preferred.
Experience building and supporting reliable, scalable, and secure services using cloud-based technologies and industry patterns / best practices.
- Curiosity with a desire to continuously learn, share and collaborate to improve yourself, and your teammates.
Prior experience in developing, debugging, test automation and maintaining code in object-oriented languages.
Database development experience
Great communication skills to collaborate cross-group and work effectively within the team.
Strong coding, debugging and problem-solving skills.
