The Web Experiences Team (WebXT) spans the Microsoft ecosystem of web experiences, aligned on our principal goal to make the web a better place for everyone on the planet. WebXT is a suite of products and services that includes Bing, Microsoft News, our Advertising Platform, the new Edge browser, and Maps.
The WebXT Fundamentals team is looking for a world-class engineer to be a Performance Architect for the platform. You are a true expert in writing code that is frugal, and performant. Your role will extend into our organization to create an engineering culture that appreciates these principles. You will have the opportunity to influence the architecture and design of platforms that run some of the biggest distributed systems in our cloud.

Increase capacity by an order of magnitude by driving compute and storage optimizations
Create a Center of Excellence that nurtures engineers passionate about performance and efficiency.
Create toolsets that enable finding bottlenecks and memory overuse in complex, distributed systems.
Work closely with the .NET Core and DevDiv team to make it the best platform for large-scale services that developers around the world can leverage
Work across hardware and software teams to optimize server SKUs to align with our performance and capacity needs

8+ years of experience writing code and operating large-scale systems
Strong experience with Distributed systems
4+ years of xperience with profiling and debugging performance issues in complex systems.
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or other Advanced Sciences
A strong track record of successfully designing and building highly reliable and performant services at planet scale.
