We are looking for an experienced firmware engineer both to collaborate with researchers and to design and implement research ideas into working systems to test out new ideas and approaches. The areas of interest are audio and/or video acquisition and processing in low power form factors. Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineery, Physics or related field, Master’s or higher preferred
  • Eight or more years of experience in C/C++ firmware programming.
  • Experience in Python.
  • Strong ability to learn, analyze and solve hard problems
  • Familiarity with RTOS or runtimes including synchronization, memory management, diagnostics, telemetry, and fault handling.
  • Strong audio and media development skills, with a long-range system view that leverages development ranging from rapid research prototypes to carefully architected complex systems
  • Five years experience in optimizing algorithims to run in firmware

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (i.e. Torch, TensorFlow), Machine Learning.
  • Familiarity with porting and optimizing pretrained DNN models to highly optimized hardware specific code.
  • DSP and/or Image Processing background.
  • Knowledge of at least one flavor of assembly language is a plus.
