Have you ever received a driver update on your Windows PC? Did you wonder how it got there? As the Lead PM for the Driver Publishing, Servicing, and Flighting system you will be accountable for running the end-to-end pipeline that processes, validates, signs, certifies and publishes for distribution every driver install on Windows PC and Servers. This includes driving planning, execution, and operation across:

  • Hardware Dev Center, which enables partners in the Windows ecosystem to create, publish and manage system, driver, firmware, and related metadata to Microsoft for certification and attestation.
  • Driver Servicing Quality, which is responsible for delivering the E2E evaluation pipeline that is used to verify the quality of drivers through flighting, gradual rollout, and robust reporting.
  • Driver Servicing Insights, which builds data resources, reports, and services needed to driver the experimentation data science solutions used to improve the driver servicing pipeline and allow internal and external partners to make data driven decisions.

Your role will be to manage the team of PMs that drive these services and partner with the engineering teams responsible for building the highly reliable web services that bring he end-to-end driver pipeline to life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the Driver publishing (HDC), certification (WHCP), servicing and flighting pipeline for Windows is sustained as an essential service to servicing drivers, firmware, and kernel mode software for the Windows ecosystem.
  • Deliver a more consistent, reliable, and predictable hardware servicing experience by working with feature teams to improve their driver development, evaluation, and servicing models and helping to drive broad adoption of those best practices.
  • Drive improvements to the end-to-end driver servicing experience to meet our business needs of Windows and new technology areas.
    Defined the objectives, key results, and metrics that we will used to measure our success.
  • Manage, track, and drive the technical engagement efforts with our IHVs and OEMs across key driver servicing efforts.
  • Manage and grow a team of PMs that report to you.
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
  • 7+ years of industry experience
  • A BA/BS degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong cross-group collaboration skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to mentor and develop a team of program managers
  • Demonstrated growth mindset
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience building and running a scale web service
  • Experience working on cross-company partnerships
  • Experience working with PC, Hardware or Software ecosystem partners
