Microsoft Business Development Manager (Search, Advertising and News)

Join the dynamic International Content Media business development team that’s driving strategic business development activities for our Content Services (CS), Bing and Advertising groups for a very diversified and exciting role spanning across multiple product groups and businesses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting existing partners, and evolving the portfolio by sourcing, negotiating and executing content license agreements with major media companies and structured data providers on behalf of CS, Bing and Ads groups across multiple markets in EMEA region. Current countries to be covered include France, Belgium, French speaking Africa and could potentially evolve towards additional markets in the future.
The candidate will work with the CS editorial and product teams to determine MSN’s content licensing needs in the markets and other CS initiatives, and then support the partner strategy to acquire the necessary rights. Partners include both digital native publishers as well as the top traditional media companies in newspapers, magazines, television and creators.
Similarly, the candidate will work with the Bing and Bing Local product groups to identify local structured data providers to meet product quality objectives and negotiate partnership with target providers. Around 50% of activities is expected to be dedicated to Bing support, candidate being dotted line reporting to Bing BD team in Redmond on these priorities.
Across all products, the candidate will be responsible for managing existing and new partnerships on an ongoing basis. Partner management duties include regular business reviews with partners as well as oversight of partner onboarding, reporting and payments, together with ensuring technical and business issues are resolved by relevant teams as they arise.
The International Business Development team also has a mandate to drive revenue growth initiatives for the CS group, including identifying revenue generating potential partnership across Sponsored Content and monetization (CPC, CPA) business models in all covered markets.
The Business Development Manager will also have to identify and execute local growth opportunities through Distribution agreements to expand Content Services reach outside of the Microsoft Ecosystem to grow Daily Active Users. This includes identifying and executing on levers and partnerships to distribute the Microsoft Start App.

The candidate should have at least few years’ experience in online media in a business development, marketing or sales role, with a proven record of delivering quantifiable results. Candidate evaluation will focus on determining capabilities in the following areas:
