In this role you would be responsible for managing a cross-country / cross-geo services team of Consultants and Business Partners with direct responsibilities in developing, deploying and delivering Enterprise Solutions based on the IBM Z software portfolio. You would coordinate delivery services for engagements. The services include technical solutions, resources as well as other services our customers require. You would also forcast service delivery needs and skills demand. This team is focused on the deployment of z software including the introduction of new products and technologies.
What you’ll do:
  • Managing consultants who deploy IBM zSW at client site. The IBM Z Systems Software Manager leads the Z Software deployment team which provides IBM Z software services solutions and is responsible for the Z Software deployment services business.
What you’ll do as a 1st line manager:
  • Lead by example in all activities. Support change, encourage employees to innovate, evaluate suggestions, and remove obstacles to implementation.
  • Assure employee equity and encourage employee growth and opportunity.
  • Advise and coach employees to help them develop their skills and capabilities to best meet their career desires and current or future business needs.
  • Execute processes for the normal operation of employee programs. Analyze and interpret new situations. Resolve complex problems independently or through the management of others.

  • Someone with deep knowledge of industry trends
  • Have ability to coordinate and contribute to the efforts of large, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experienced at being accountable for business results: client satisfaction, productivity, budgets etc.

Location: This is a remote position
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a matrixed environment
  • 3+ years’ experience working for an IT company

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 1st Line management experience.
  • Experience with IBM Systems products and services
  • Project management experience
  • PMP or IBM Project Management Certification
  • Familiarity with IBM Z products and offerings
