Interactive Designer - 7Summits

IBM
Introduction
At IBM, work is more than a job - it's a calling: To build. To design. To code. To consult. To think along with clients and sell. To make markets. To invent. To collaborate. Not just to do something better, but to attempt things you've never thought possible. Are you ready to lead in this new era of technology and solve some of the world's most challenging problems? If so, lets talk.
Your Role and Responsibilities
An Interactive Designer works as part of our Experience Design Studio to create innovative experiences for communities and custom business solutions built on Salesforce Experience Cloud.
As a designer, you’ll work closely with clients and project teams to understand the vision clients are trying to achieve and then create contemporary solution designs to bring that vision to life.
You’ll work with Fortune 1000 clients across a variety of industries including consumer brands, high-tech, financial services, healthcare, and higher education, and others and help deliver on 7Summits brand promise of helping clients to create, compete, and innovate in new ways.
Key Accountabilities
  • Prepare for client engagements by understanding use cases, 7Summits project experience and luminary solutions, existing client materials, and other research
  • Create innovative experience solutions that strike the required balance of platform capabilities, 7Summits components, and custom functionality to address the solution vision. Collaborate with internal resources to ensure the experience, business, and technical recommendations are aligned
  • Present and navigate clients through design alternatives and decisions, facilitating stakeholder feedback in order to evolve the solutions
  • Elevate user experience designs to new heights in usability, intuitive hierarchy, and connected brand experiences across multiple channels, platforms, and devices
  • Develop engaging prototypes for internal and external user testing by leveraging platforms such as Sketch, Adobe XD, and InVision
  • Responsible for understanding, researching, and translating the visual embodiment of a client brand in digital and traditional properties into a Salesforce-specific brand experience
  • Bring best practice knowledge of business design systems, graphic user interface design for modern business applications, responsive visual design for multi-device support, as well as an understanding of how the audience’s goals and needs influence each
  • Collaborate in audience research and testing, bringing insights into the experience deliverables, particularly as it relates to the leveraging of brand artifacts, attributes, and messaging to marry audience and brand goals
  • Produce the visual design system — from key page designs to core visual assets — to support the client’s implementation of Salesforce and any corresponding/contained applications and functionality
  • Work with technical teams to transition solution design into development. Oversee and provide design support as needed including style sheets, page-level markups such as “Redlines” that call out specific Salesforce / 7Summits custom IP, and production asset output via tools like Zeplin, InVision Inspect, etc.
  • Participate in advancing the studio team through coaching and mentoring, helping to evolve services and tools, and other initiatives

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree required and/or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of direct experience in the visual design field delivering user value through exceptional interface development and multimedia branding
  • Agency or consulting experience with the ability to work on multiple engagements/clients at the same time
  • Ability to effectively communicate to business and technical stakeholders on design topics including the design process, the rationale of design specific recommendations, and how design solutions address business and technical requirements
  • Deep hands-on understanding of user-centered design principles including strategy, research, audience empathy, interface design and rapid prototyping, and design validation
  • Advanced skill-set with interface prototyping tools for desktop and mobile (e.g. Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and others)
  • Great Portfolio of design deliverables across desktop, tablet, mobile, and even traditional platforms/media
  • Impeccable attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences
  • Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to consistently deliver projects and customer value
  • Ability to work independently and handle change and shifting work priorities
  • Travel requirements are in the range of 10-25%

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Salesforce Experience Builder / Community Cloud knowledge and certification is preferred. Alternatively, experience with similar community platforms (Jive, Lithium, etc), or designing complex data-driven digital solutions (e-commerce, CMS, web apps, mobile apps, etc).
