Application Developer (Java, DB2, SQL) Controls, Audit, and Licensing

Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM is seeking an enthusiastic Application Developer to join a DevSecOps squad in the Finance, Infrastructure & Insight organization which manages IBM’s Controls, Audit and Licensing applications. Technical restlessness, creativity, intellectual curiosity, problem solving and passion for helping others are key characteristics for success.
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide ongoing steady state support and maintenance of Controls, Audit, and Licensing applications on a hybrid cloud environment – Redhat OpenShift, Liberty, Db2 Private Cloud, zOS LPARs.
  • Perform root cause analysis of technical and process issues
  • Analyze customer or product owners needs and deliver solutions to meet those needs
  • Participate in design, development, review and test efforts for improvements
  • Partner with the Technical Lead and the IT Architect to design a world class solution
  • Collaborate with your fellow Developers, Business Analysts, Iteration Managers and Product Owners to continuously improve applications and support practices
  • Contribute to the team’s Agile and DevOps maturity

A key component of how we work is using Agile, IBM Design Thinking and DevOps practices to drive customer success, deliver holistic product experiences, and take on new and exciting challenges. Preferred candidates should also be flexible; pulling stories from the overall squad backlog, learning a variety of technologies to support existing applications and building skills for future solution.
The team is currently working remotely and will gradually return to a hybrid in-person/remote working environment and will leverage collaboration tools/applications to stay connected. When in the office, the team works in an agile open space in Southbury, CT. Must have the ability to work in the US without current/future need for IBM sponsorship.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 2+ years’ experience in systems support, application development and/or integration
  • 2+ years’ experience in the following: Java, DB2, SQL, K8S
  • 2+ years’ of DB2 development work
  • Experience with standard DevOps tools ex. GIT, JIRA, Jenkins, Dynatrace
  • Strong communication and team skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Experience developing technical solutions from new business requirements
  • Experience in working with agile teams
  • Experience with Automated test tools
  • Experience with Continuous Monitoring tools
  • Experience with micro-services, container-based deployment architecture
  • Application Database Design (OLTP and Business Information Warehouses)
  • Proficiency with development of new and existing database repositories
  • Application SQL development to support CRUD operations
