Job Description
Onsite: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.
We are seeking a Global Propulsion Systems Lab Engineering Technician to support engine, transmission, hybrid, and electrification development and validation testing in a laboratory environment. Take the lead in supporting the laboratory equipment used in testing and includes development of procedures and processes to maintain and repair the equipment along with supporting the test cells and systems integration. Interface to respective engineering teams and participate or lead in the development of new testing requirements. Utilize your independent judgment with some direct mentorship.   • Determine and plan project/task assignments given objectives

  • Lead numerous projects at a time

  • Participate in solution of engineering related problems experienced in the laboratory (Root Cause)

  • Advise on planning, scheduling and execution of prototype, pilot or other activities in support of project engineering, technical maintenance and design for reliability

  • Provide technical direction to support personnel

  • Communicate information to and from customer organizations

  • Keep abreast of new technology and competitive products

  • Regular contact with others outside the work group

  • Participate in continuous improvement workshops

  • Support weekend and overtime needs as required

Additional Job Description

  • Associate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) area

  • Analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills where issues can be unusual and difficult

  • Understand engineering theory and principles of design

  • Solid understanding of Test Methods (GMW)

  • Working Knowledge of automotive components and systems

  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship leadership skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed

  • Emerging partnership and teamwork skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of dyno controls (AVL, Horiba), mechanical drives, power transmissions, fluid power / pneumatics, calibration software (ETAS - INCA)

  • DFSS / REDX Certification
