Job Description
Onsite: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.
We are seeking a 5 Axis Programmer/Machinist to plan, develop, and build test set-ups and evaluate results. Investigate mechanical and electrical operational difficulties on products and/or components and recommend corrective action. As a 3, 4 and 5 Axis CNC Programmer/Machinist you will be responsible for project work taking jobs from 3D model or blueprints and produce finished parts. Your experience level will provide you with access to work independently in several departments and demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and learning abilities with a nominal amount of cross training.   • 3, 4 and 5 Axis Programming, setup tooling, in process basic inspection, finishing to completion to inspected parts

  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and material specifications

  • Program CNC mills using CAM systems

  • Maintain part specifications by adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes

  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements specified by the manufacturer’s instructions

  • Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership and exploring opportunities to add value to the team

Additional Job Description
Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years machining

  • Minimum of 5 years of 5 Axis machining

  • Significant CAM software experience preferably with Surfcam, Featurecam, or Mastercam

  • Sufficient 3D surfacing skills

  • Tooling speeds and feeds selection

  • Manual Mill and Lathe

  • 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC Programming and operation

  • Utilization of GD&T standards

  • Emerging partnership and teamwork skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational skills to communicate technical data to colleagues and leadership

  • Must be willing and able to work on day and afternoon shifts as required to meet demands

  • Strong level of analytical thinking

  • Successfully pass a driver’s abstract and background

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • 2-year college degree in Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field

  • Horizontal and vertical CNC machine experience

  • Familiar with UG and TeamCenter

  • CNC lathe programming and operation experience

  • Fanuc, Haas, Hurco, Fadal, and Siemens controller experience

  • Understanding of the constantly evolving racing environment
