The Hardware Test Technology Engineer is a complex multi-disciplinary role that program manages complicated test projects, helps ensure cross-functional dependencies are met. This role also oversees test processes and initiates improvements. You will drive conceptual test system hardware design with technology groups in the early product exploration stage. You will be leading in resolving and documenting issues on test equipment and systems and bridge to production. The ideal candidate is a self-driven individual working in a cross-functional team environment. You will enforce manufacturability, testability and ensure cost-effective designs are implemented for testing and automation systems, software, and equipment. This position will have responsibilities for New Technology Initiatives (NTI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) test development and bridge to sustaining support of production. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. We are looking for someone with a productive mindset who can apply their expertise to solve problems in creative, insightful ways.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure test project success. Ensure tight inter-team coordination and communication.
  • Manages cross functional dependencies with engineering by driving to an agreed-upon set of deliverables then tracks progress and manages exceptions. Proactively identify/address potential setbacks.
  • Oversees test vendors: publishes deliverables, identifies risks and track schedules. Works with business team on vendor management.
  • In NTI phase, works with design teams to jointly develop testing plan.
  • Publishes reports and dashboards to peers and management.
  • Drive internal test process improvements.
  • Travel required: up to 10%, includes domestics and International travels for collaboration with R&D teams and prototype builds support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in working with complex systems with hardware and software components.
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • 2+ years experience with program/project management.
  • 4+ years experience in program management.
  • Manufacturing experience in a high-tech industry.
  • Experience with developing complicated test systems integrating optics/camera, mechanical motion, electrical controls, and test software.
  • Experience with testing for consumer electronics products for NPI and mass production.
  • Data analysis skills and familiar with statistics tools such as JMP and Minitab.
  • Lab management experience.
  • People management experience.
  • Experience with managing multiple third-party vendors from evaluation, down-selection and driving deliverables to meet project requirements.
