Facebook’s Global Operations team exists to help them.Facebook is seeking a professional analyst to join our Political Advertising team within the Business Integrity Organization. Business Integrity's mission is to ensure safe and trusted connections between people, businesses, and Facebook. Our team works together to anticipate and predict potential threats to our platform, design and build tools to protect against these threats, and then implement and enforce these systems at scale. We leverage data analysis, machine learning and a robust infrastructure to review the quality of promoted content on our platform. We partner closely with several cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and data science, to ensure high quality and safe experiences for both people and businesses across the Facebook family of apps.Our mission in the Political Advertising team is to ensure that ads about social issues, elections or politics are authentic and transparent across our platform through appropriate policy design and enforcement. In this role, you will represent Business Integrity (BI) Ops across cross-functional team discussions on policies, translate policy into enforceable strategy, lead the design, drafting and coordination of our political ads enforcement protocols, and work well with a variety of internal stakeholders.This is a full-time position based in our Dublin office.
  • Shape strategy and operations for our global Political Advertising team within Business Integrity Operations, identifying and assessing risks and opportunities, developing workflows to minimise and manage risk, and ensuring trust and safety on our platforms.
  • Develop a sound understanding and knowledge of potential risk areas relevant to political advertising in the EMEA region.
  • Leverage qualitative & data informed insights to drive new policy and enforcement initiatives, including operational improvements to existing processes.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships, in multiple geographies, with policy, legal, engineering, data science, sales, product management and other operational teams at Facebook.
  • Influence prioritisation and roadmaps to implement optimal solutions for political advertising.
  • Manage, coordinate, and / or support policy enforcement projects and regional elections as needed.
  • Bachelor in Applied Science, Cognitive Science, Communication Arts, Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Fine Arts, Information Science, Liberal Arts, Materials Science and Engineering, Political Science and Government, Political Science and History, Political Sciences, Social Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of professional experience in international / political affairs, operations, policy strategy, risk analysis or related fields
  • Analytical skills, with experience solving problems using data and providing practical business insights / cases
  • Experience with influencing data, business, and engineering teams through an understanding of business and ecosystem needs
  • Experience with assessing, analyzing and resolving complicated issues, and distilling complexity into simple and concise communication
  • Experience working with international and cross-functional teams, resolving and communicating about issues with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Working experience with data query techniques / languages (e.g. SQL)
  • Knowledge of markets/political landscape In Europe, as successful candidates will be advising on policy, enforcement and product strategy to address risks in this region
  • Work experience or knowledge of relevant global internet/social media issues including ad tech, policy & regulation
  • Experience in the business analysis of processes, metrics, workflows, or operations
  • Experience working and communicating with globally distributed teams
