About The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated professional with top programming skills to be a quality engineering and automation inspiring leader who is highly capable of architecting, crafting and writing web service and web application automation code to ensure team deliver high quality next generation of selling listing flow at eBay which impacts millions of people and billions of GMVs each year. This critical position requires collaboration with folks across various eBay fields, specifically Product Management and Product Development but also with Analytics and Business.
The person would be a strong problem solver and analytical thinker, self-starter and team player, and a strong driver for results and continuous improvement.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Plan, define and execute test strategies in a multi-screen, multi-platform, multi-language web application environment and ensure they are released to production with high quality.
Architect and write web service automation code in Java, JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, TestNG and other internal Java-based automation frameworks for Frontend, SOA, RESTful Services and messaging components;
Conduct non functional testing, including web accessibility, product app security, server side load and performance, and client side page speed.
Help develop and enhance a continuous integration framework, merging build/compile/test/validate processes with scheduling, automated notifications and graduated build deployments
Work with engineers, team leads, and managers to help developing innovative testing solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, security, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedule consistent to testing goals and principles
Influence development and architecture counterparts to design for testability
Mentor and train other engineers, lead larger projects, prioritize test activities and find creative solutions to blocking issues and problems
Ensure Definition of Done (DoD) process for better quality by maintaining over 80% automation test coverage and other release criteria standards
Strong programming skills with 6+ years of software design and development experience, solid foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, OOPs, and OOA/D
5+ years of experience in developing and/or testing RESTFUL / SOAP Java backend services and NodeJS UX applications desktop and mobile web applications.
3+ years of experience in continuous integration test environments (like Jenkins) and automation frameworks like Selenium/WebDriver/TestNG.
Proficient with at least one of the following types of databases - Relational or NoSQL databases (Oracle, MongoDB, Couchbase etc.)
Experience with at least one form of non-functional testing like web product security, page accessibility and page speed.
Knowledge of scripting languages like Perl/Python/PHP
Experience with a test case management system.
Planning skills to craft test plans and test cases for larger multi-component products across multiple resources and parallel development tracks
Quality Assurance background, including JUnit/Code Coverage /Mock concepts/Static Analysis is appreciated
Experience with agile development methodologies, Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD
Ability to adapt to changing business priorities and to thrive under pressure.
Excellent decision-making, communication and collaboration skills

Master’s degree + with 6+ years proven experience; or bachelor’s degree (BSCS or BSEE or other related 4 year Technical Degree) with 8+ years of experience
