Main Purpose of Job
  • To manage the team/s within sphere of responsibility in the effective delivery of services to the business.
  • To establish overall operational responsibility for the Firm’s security initiatives. To direct and manage the implementation of policies and procedures designed to minimise the risk of Deloitte’s employees, senior executives and physical assets from harm, loss and/or compromise as a result of dishonest, criminal and/or inappropriate acts

Key Performance Area

Strategic Impact
  • Interrogates, clearly understands and communicates to team the agreed strategic objectives of both own Service Area and that of the client Service Line/s
  • Manages the implementation of the strategic imperatives in line with service area strategy relating to:
    • Implementation of change initiatives within designated area/s
    • Management of the implementation of plan on a day-to-day basis with team
    • Monitoring skills level in team relating to required outputs, assisting as necessary
    • Clear and regular communication with superior and team on implementation status
  • Builds professional relationships within service line/s to understand business needs in area/s of responsibility
  • Generates and implements innovative ideas and solutions within area of responsibility in collaboration with team members to enhance / renew service offerings

Differentiators for this specific role
  • Managing the Firm’s physical security across all Offices;
  • Manage and guide the Firm’s physical security protection (guards)
  • Manage the Firm’s service level agreements with security services providers;
  • Implementing, and maintaining physical security processes, practices, and policies throughout the organisation in order to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure and liability;
  • Investigate and act against any form of malicious / criminal activities against the firm i.e. fraud, industrial espionage, theft, intellectual property theft;
  • Provide reports and recommendations concerning any malicious act or incident affecting the safety and security of Deloitte’s employees, physical assets;
  • Identifying areas of risk, and developing a cohesive proactive strategy to mitigate and reduce those risks;
  • Creating a process of regular periodic review and evaluation of organisational preparedness;
  • Assist the Occupational Health and Safety teams in the event of an incident and ensure that the physical security controls are not compromised as a result of an incident i.e. emergency evacuations should have compensating controls to limit any form of damage;
  • Maintaining a current knowledge base of industry standards and applicable laws and regulatory requirements;
  • Planning and implementing site security, operations, and activities to ensure protection of executives, employees, customers, and visitors, as well as physical and information assets, while ensuring optimal use of personnel and equipment Prepare responses to Adhoc requests from DTTL
  • Prepare quarterly management representation letter submission
  • Prepare Annual and calandarised Africa plan submission
  • Prepare Africa Preliminary plan submission
  • Prepare Standard days template
  • Ensure that Member firm insights by service lines are submitted
  • Submit Global Client Intelligence (GCI) report
  • Compile prelim calculations based on budget revenue
  • Compile final calculations - Based on final revenue less internal rev eliminations

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Security Management Diploma

Desired Qualifications
  • Postgraduate qualification (relevant to Service Area / Business Management, etc.)
  • Security Management Diploma, Criminal Justice, or similar is a minimum, or internationally recognised industry certifications and expertise in security related disciplines.

Minimum Experience
  • 2 to 5 years’ working experience within the relevant function

Desired Experience
  • Successful record of accomplishment over a minimum period of 10 years in Security or Risk Management capacity with strong interpersonal experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of physical security risk management.
