Job Description

Position Summary
:
The Director of Sales, Communications Systems NA, is responsible for leading BU Communications Systems direct sales, manufacturers’ representatives and business development teams in exceeding sales plans, executing growth strategies, delighting customers, developing associates and representing the Bosch brand and values.
Principal Responsibilities:
The Director of Sales will direct the strategic activities of the channel focused sales organization, driving increased revenues and profitability for Bosch Security Systems in North America. This individual will be responsible for achieving the growth targets through the initiation and implementation of business development and growth strategies while being mindful of the company’s heritage and culture. The Director must be highly creative, solutions driven, sales and marketing oriented image builder, as well as a results oriented, well-rounded business person. This leader will direct the day-to-day activities of the Communications Systems sales organization, coordinating strategies for products from the business unit with multiple brands and an array of go-to-market strategies. The Director will lead the Communications Systems North America sales team in building strategic customer, field and channel relationships.
This position will be responsible for total U.S. sales of over $115 million with aggressive targets for growth and customer development. This position will lead two segment-focused national Sales Managers and one MI Manager, with 27 associates reporting.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Assume all P&L responsibility for the BU Communications Systems Sales organization in North America.
  • Define and implement the sales strategy including channel and brand strategy consistent with global BU CO strategy. Align sales action plans and US strategies.
  • Ensure long-term profitable growth by developing and executing marketing plans and strategies, as well as identifying and exploiting market segments. Significantly increase market share across all customer segments.
  • Build strong corporate and personal relationships on behalf of the company with key customers, influencers and end-users in the region. Develop and implement regional key account and vertical end user strategy. Develop creative business development approaches.
  • Approve terms and conditions for large projects
  • Strengthen the performance and capabilities of the Sales organization. Identify talent, develop leadership skills and create advancement opportunities throughout the Sales team.
  • Provide planning and analysis for future growth and strategic account management including development and execution of a North America strategic business plan encompassing both a channel and customer strategy.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading a sales organization, preferably for an audio or communications technology manufacturer.
  • Knowledge of professional audio technology is essential including the technology shift from analogue to digital, the “internet of things”, convergence and other future technology trends.
  • Extensive experience in sales, marketing, strategic planning, and P&L responsibility for a complex array of products, brands and market strategies.
  • Understands the demands of bringing communications solutions to market and know how to lead and position the company for optimum growth potential while managing ROI, and while advancing strategies for ongoing investment in people, processes and technology.
  • Demonstrated history of success working with internal stakeholders in a matrixed organization structure.
  • Strong project delivery capability / project management skills to lead and execute all customer site installations and the implementation of customized solutions in the customer environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of how technology products are deployed, either in-house or via channel partners, for a wide range of customers.
  • The ability to leverage and coordinate available resources to maximize overall profit.
  • Proven leader with the ability to attract, motivate and reward the type of individuals who successfully lead in a Sales organization.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 80%

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field; MBA preferred.
