Vendor Risk Program Manager

Our Team:
The Vendor Risk Management (VRM) team is part of the Chief Risk and Compliance Office (CRCO). We are responsible for assisting Bloomberg departments and select subsidiaries of Bloomberg LP in the selection, assessment, mitigation and continuous monitoring of Information Security, Operational Resilience, Data Privacy and other material risks introduced by vendors and other third party service providers.
What's The Role?
As the Vendor Risk Program Manager, you will play a key role in assisting the team in the execution of the VRM strategy, projects and initiatives. You will support the Team Lead in coordinating efforts across the team and other key stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, Technology and others) to ensure adequate visibility into risks presented by current and prospective vendors while ensuring operational efficiency and effective execution of due diligence activities. Our colleagues in various business units will depend on you to provide the information and intelligence needed to take informed and calculated risks.
In this role you will:
  • Actively drive coordination and implementation for the overall third party risk management function, driven by plans to mature the program
  • Own communication plans and escalation plans regarding third party risk governance activities
  • Maintain third party risk policies, procedures and practices, with input from Vendor Risk Analysts, Managers and others
  • Provide dashboard reporting for all audiences (senior management, Risk Working Group, and others) on third party risk management program activities, results, and outcomes
  • Coordinate gathering and analysis of risk assessment data for management

We'll Trust You To:
  • Drive program rigor by interpreting, training and enforcing compliance with Bloomberg VRM Standards and Procedures
  • Develop operational dashboards and other artifacts to provide visibility into Business Unit(s) third party risk profile
  • Lead key VRM activities and demonstrate understanding of the top risks affecting Bloomberg with respect to vendor engagement
  • Lead the VRM teams’ agile approach to project management
  • Cultivate and leverage relationships with Legal, Compliance, Bloomberg Risk Management and other control functions to accomplish objectives

  • You’ll Need To Have:
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects, some multi-dimensional and dependent on others, and working closely with business and department stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of demonstrated decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong Interest in data visualization techniques and tools
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to translate sophisticated concepts and issues into insights for Senior Management and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to simplify difficult concepts and challenges by thinking analytically
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher, ideally in Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or related discipline

  • We’d Love to See (pluses):
  • Experience working in the fields of Risk Assurance, Risk Management, Audit or other related experience
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools/languages (eg. QlikSense, Tableau, D3)
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA
  • Certified Scrum Master or Certified Scrum Professional (CSM or CSP); and/or experience with Agile methodology
