  • •8+ years leading complex mission and operational programs with IT challenges and business challenges in the non-profit Healthcare sector

Do you have the business savvy, government business development experience and the technical background necessary to help further establish Amazon as a leading cloud platform provider and deliver results to the mission operators on the ground?
As an AWS Mission Engagement Executive, you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mindshare and adoption of Amazon Web Services in public sector mission space specifically for non-profit Healthcare. Your focus will be to develop and drive large engagements planning that result in customer solution deployments, partner support growth and revenue growth.
In this role, you will establish technical relationships with AWS through your knowledge of the customer's mission and the environment. You will have day-to-day interactions with mission owners, operators, department executives and partners in support of government agencies of our nonprofit Healthcare customers. The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the executive level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with specialty service support teams. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions. You will also work very closely with the AWS sales teams to drive and document these joint engagements, as well as strategically plan for development of future opportunities and pursuits.
Candidates should also have strong industry experience and demonstrated the ability to think and act strategically on the non-profit Healthcare customer mission, industry directions, and partner/customer technical challenges.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key member of the AWS Mission Acceleration Team (MAT) to help drive overall customer solutions, account revenue and AWS strategy around the non-profit healthcare customers
  • Maintain an accurate and robust pipeline and forecast of mission focused opportunities
  • Understand and navigate federal contracting vehicles and procedures
  • Set a strategic sales plan and service goals for your target markets and ensure it's in line with the AWS strategic direction
  • Exhibit thought leadership and the ability to build executive relationships
  • Execute the strategic sales & technical business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, etc.)
  • Identify specific customers/partners/channels to approach while communicating the specific value proposition for their business and use case
  • Work cross functionally with sales teams, support teams, customers and partners to deliver key mission operator solutions
  • Work closely with the customer base to ensure they are successful using our web services and solution packages
  • Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development team to guide the direction of our product offerings for developers
  • Understand and exploit the use of salesforce.com and other internal Amazon systems
  • Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to closing new customers
  • Manage complex contract negotiations and liaison with the legal group
  • Handle a high volume of engagements and the fast pace of the cloud computing market

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience in a the non-profit Healthcare vertical
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with mission owner and operators pulling from your experience
  • Strong written communication skills
  • High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations as well as translating and facilitating between IT and non-IT customer organizations
  • Maturity, judgement, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills and leadership skills
  • Self-starter and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to collaborate to solve complex mission challenges of the nonprofit Healthcare customres
  • Experience using Salesforce (reports and CRM)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead large workshop.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements of highly regulated customers in the public sector to include system accreditation frameworks
  • Established network within the government, partner and acquisition space
  • Ability to credibly coordinate between project teams and customers to meet unique customer requirements
